Breeding field Golden Retrievers today is a balancing act between performance-based selection and genomic preservation. My goal is to maintain the high drive, athletic build and biddability of the field lines while using DNA tools to reverse the narrowing of the gene pool caused by the "popular sire" effect.
Focusing on diversity alongside traits helps prevent Inbreeding Depression, which often manifests in golden retrievers as smaller litter sizes, reduced fertility, and a higher predisposition to hemangiosarcoma and lymphoma. By utilizing modern genetic testing, I can better ensure the "field" remains as a high-performance athlete for generations, rather than a genetically bottlenecked specialist.

Welcome Stone! In the context of golden retrievers, his "popular sire-less" pedigree refers to a lineage intentionally bred to minimize the influence of a few highly prolific male goldens. This breed preservation practice is a strategy to combat "Popular Sire Syndrome," where a small number of attractive or champion males are bred so frequently that they dominate the breed's gene pool, leading to a significant loss of genetic diversity and inbreeding depression.

All daily litter updates, videos and discussions for each litter will be shared through a private WhatsApp group.
Registration
The pups will be sold on limited AKC registration. Full registration is available after you obtain the final standard health certifications. Genetic, eye, heart, hip and elbows. Details included in the puppy contract. Invoices available for business purposes.
When registering your pup with the AKC, the official kennel name starts with WM Farms... whatever you choose after that. This helps me track the pups along their journey.
Gender and pick
The guideline for pick is the date you submitted your puppy application and subsequent payment. However, we also work hard at getting the right pup in the right hands. I reserve the right to work with you on that. Some will be more alpha than others. Usage and designation will be discussed in litter groups. Usage/need and puppy personality starting around 5 weeks old.
