Litter Goals:
The strategic breeding of Boone who's father is Clipper AKA HRCH Wynwood’s Storm Warning MH109 MNH MAR HTHF ** CCA OS HOF to a Scottish-born working female Ede, represents a specific approach to genetic preservation and performance excellence. By pairing the most prolific Master Hunter in history with a female from the breed’s ancestral working roots, I can can significantly lower the Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) and introduce vital new DLA haplotypes into the American gene pool. This "US x UK" outcross intentionally retains Clipper's legendary "bird sense" and biddability while bolstering structural health and immune system diversity, ensuring that the next generation of goldens maintains the high-drive, durable athleticism required for elite field work.
Calculated Litter Genetic Diversity:
COI (12 generations): 0.62%
(10 Gen) Ancestor Loss Coefficient (AVK): 37.97%
(10 generations: 100% complete)
Golden Retriever Panel: CI1, CI2, CMS, DM, NCL, PRA1, PRA2, PRCD, SAN
Eden VGL Haplotypes (Heterozygous @ I & II & Rare = less than 10%):
DLA I DLA II
1006 @ 2% 2007 @ 2%
1014 @ 4% 2021 @ 8%
Physical:
Predicted size: 50-70 pounds
Coats: Flat, dark field coats
Head: Boxy with attractive muzzle, stop and length
Clipper has amassed a staggering array of titles that highlight his prowess and versatility. His credentials include being a Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) and a Master Hunter (MH109) with over 100 qualifying passes, as well as a multi-year qualifier for the Master National (MNH) and Master Amateur (MAR) events. Beyond his field performance, he holds a Certificate of Conformation Assessment (CCA) for meeting breed standards and has been inducted into the Golden Retriever Club of America (GRCA) Hall of Fame (HOF) and Hunting Test Hall of Fame (HTHF). Owned by John McKellop, Clipper is also designated as an Outstanding Sire (OS) and is frequently used in high-level breeding programs to preserve strong working traits and genetic diversity within the breed.
In addition Ryman was recognized as an Outstanding Sire (OS) by the Golden Retriever Club of America, a title bestowed upon dogs that have produced a significant number of offspring with advanced working or show titles. This designation highlights his impact on the breed's lineage, contributing to the development of talented and versatile working dogs. He also held the Working Certificate Excellent (WCX) title. Ryman spent his life in California before passing away in May 2022.
In Golden Retriever pedigree analysis, the Kinship (or mean kinship, mK) results on K9Data provide a critical shift from looking only at an individual's inbreeding to evaluating its genetic value to the entire breed population. While the traditional Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) measures how related a dog's parents are, the kinship coefficient quantifies the genetic similarity between any two individuals, effectively predicting the average COI of their potential offspring. By ranking dogs by their mean kinship—the average of their kinship with all other dogs in the database—breeders can identify "genetically important" individuals that carry uncommon alleles.

In my experience, litters resulting from a Scottish-born working female and a US-born performance field male typically produces puppies with an exceptional blend of high intelligence, prey drive, and athletic versatility. While the Scottish lineage may contribute a slightly more focused and calmer mental maturity early on, the American influence produces a high-energy "engine" that thrives when given a demanding job, such as hunt tests or competitive agility. The litter results are generally characterized by a "happy" work ethic and an eagerness to please, making them great candidates for a variety of usages.
This field pedigree is deep, boasting 30 significant field and working titles across both maternal and paternal lines, including prestigious Master National and Field Trial accolades. Despite this high level of accomplishment, the pairing retains remarkable genetic diversity by integrating an imported Scottish working female with proven American agility and field talent.
